Vatt polls meters and controllers over open protocols. Devices rarely need replacing, and equipment control is switched on only where you allow it.
How data travels
On its way from device to report, data passes through an on-site gateway. The gateway opens the connection to the platform itself, so no inbound ports are needed in the building network.

Security
By default the platform only reads data. Anything that can change how equipment runs is switched on explicitly and leaves a record in the log.
Read-only by default
Writing to a controller is enabled for a specific device after sign-off from the maintenance team.
Roles and buildings
Viewer, engineer, administrator. Access is limited to a set of buildings.
Audit log
Who changed what and when, including every write to a controller.
Encryption
TLS 1.2 or higher between the gateway, the platform and the browser.
Outbound connections only
The gateway needs no inbound ports and no public IP address.

Meter readings are technical data, not personal data. Personal data of platform users (name, work e-mail) stays in the region you choose; in the EU it is processed under the GDPR.
